Hoon Won is the Managing Director of OTEC Ltd.
Professional background: engineering, trading, asset management, and energy.
Hoon began his career in semiconductor design for LSI Logic Corp. in Silicon Valley before moving to quantitative options arbitrage as a member of the Pacific Stock Exchange. He managed a large quantitative derivatives portfolio for Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors trading actively in OTC markets. He was Head of Trading for Mosaic Asset Management, a San Francisco technology hedge fund, before becoming a Partner at Gyre Capital Management, a quantitative investment boutique.
In the energy space, he founded Compass Natural Gas Partners LP designing and managing the greenfield construction of a 25,000 mmbtu/day natural gas compression and loading terminal with a proprietary interconnect to the Transco Interstate pipeline. He was awarded United States Patent No.: US 10,018,303 B1 for natural gas processing.
He has a BS and MS from M.I.T.
From a modest start in the Atlantic basin, we see opportunity in the evolving energy economics and the dynamic geopolitics of the 21st century.
